RIIR Collaborates with Aranaz for 2010 Fall/Holiday Collection

12 November 2010; Makati City – ECO-ETHICAL STYLE takes center stage as RIIR Designer Line unveiled its Fashion/ Holiday collection of signature bags and accessories. Created by premier designer Amina Aranaz-Alunan, the launch of RIIR-Aranaz’s Fall/Holiday collection is the collaboration of Filipino talents – the RIIR team, the mothers of Payatas, designers Amina Aranaz and Rajo Laurel, and event sponsor Bounty Fresh.

Aptly entitled “Spot On,” the black and white-themed affair puts the spotlight on Eco-Ethical Style, a lifestyle and coalescence of fashion, social responsibility and preservation of the environment.

All pieces from the RIIR-Aranaz collection utilize scrap fabric materials that are converted into functional and high-fashion products through a process called ‘upcycling.’ The use of discarded materials is part of an advocacy to help conserve the environment while providing a sustainable source of income for the artisans behind the products.

“Social responsibility should not be separate and different from style. Our partner designer for this fashion season Amina Aranaz has ingeniously created masterpieces that embody RIIR’s advocacy,” shared Jose Mark Pardias, Sales and Marketing Manager for Rags2Riches, Inc.

An Evening of Style and Purpose
Emceed by Patty Laurel and attended by cliques from the fashion and film industries, the evening commenced with a video-message from RIIR President and co-founder Reese Fernandez. The dramatic play of colors at Greenbelt’s The Gallery lent a posh ambience while soothing music by harpist Holly Paraiso and saxophonist Dr. Michael Young serenaded the guests who filed into the venue. The highlight of the evening was when different models decked in Laurel’s couture pieces walked down the runway to showcase the RIIR-Aranaz’s exquisite Fall/Holiday collection.

In her new line, Aranaz brings forward the crochet-knitted and weaved fabrics in vibrant hues. The RIIR-Aranaz clutch and tote bags exude modern glamour as the collection emanates fashion-forward and sophisticated styles suitable for both youthful and older fashionistas. Unique pieces include the very stylish Bounty Fresh Mercato Bag, Embrague, Bandolera, Tienda and Trenza. Must-have accessories include the Peto, Pulsera, Faja and classic Elevaba choker-style necklace.

“There‘s so much love that goes into every piece of the RIIR-Aranaz collection. Every item showcases the meticulously-woven fabrics by a community of mothers from Payatas. They are empowered individuals who have chosen to utilize their skills to uplift their families out of poverty. This evening is also a celebration of this noble purpose.” said Pardias.

RIIR was initially established as a social business enterprise that aims to uplift the poor community of Payatas in Quezon City. It partnered with famed designer Rajo Laurel who became the first partner-designer of the RIIR Designer Line in 2007. Now a global Filipino brand, RIIR has successfully collaborated with over 400 women who are the artisans behind RIIR’s high-fashion products. Ogie Alcasid and Maestro Ryan Cayabyab celebrated the wonderful world of Original Pilipino Music during their much-anticipated concert “OC at the PICC” held last October 8, 2010 at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center. The crowd, who filled the PICC’s Plenary Hall to full capacity, was far from disappointed as they were treated to a night filled with all-time OPM greats – and some laughs in-between – as the collaboration of these two respected and talented musical artists demonstrated why Filipino music is so wonderfully unique. Aside from singing his own hits, Ogie, the president of the Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-aawit, also sang medleys of various OPM hits from the jukebox classics, to local rock bands, to timeless Pinoy love songs, and iconic Filipino movie themes. Not to mention performing songs from the legendary trio, the Apo Hiking Society, Willie Cruz and George Canseco all of which were complemented by the magnificent arrangement of Maestro Ryan Cayabyab.

The First Bounty Fresh Online Event!

Bounty Fresh presents its “First ever Bounty Fresh Online Event!” held last Oct. 14, 2010 at the Chef’s table restaurant. The event was a joint audience for blogers & media, enjoying the afternoon program with Bounty Fresh Chicken. The event was hosted by Ms. Meg Entrata, sister of Suzy Entrata, and was followed up with a health seminar with the benefits of chicken. Bounty Fresh products were served in the event, ranging from the Meals in Minutes product line of Bounty Fresh and choice menu from the Chef’s Table’s food offering. The event was completed by a cooking demo by Chef Bruce Lim.

Bounty Agro Ventures, inc.(BAVI) in cooperation with People Ignite, conducted a Customer Service seminar for the BAVI Southern Mindanao branches held last Oct 21, 2010 at the Grand Regal hotel in Davao city. The purpose of the seminar is to train the operations/sales personnel on how to handle customer service related scenarios. Bounty Fresh intends to handle accordingly all customer related concerns, customer service seminars are being conducted in all branches of the company to ensure good customer handling by all company personnel.
